On behalf of the Committee I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all
competitors and visitors to our 133 rd Annual Flower Show.
Sadly, with the death of our Vice President, Arthur Rugg, in 2017, we lost not just
a founder member and stalwart of the Show since it was reconstituted in 2000,
but a committed and enthusiastic exhibitor. In his memory, the family have kindly
donated trophies and sponsorship for classes in the Intermediate and Children’s sections.
Challenging growing conditions in 2017 meant that entries in annuals and some cut flowers were down,
but this was compensated for by an excellent standard of entries in the vegetable section.
We very much appreciate the support of our regular exhibitors over many years but the continuing
success of the Show depends on our ability to attract new exhibitors.
You would be most welcome and the Committee would be happy to offer any advice or assistance.
I look forward to seeing you all in September.
A.TAYLOR - President
